Catching-up with the Future

Right.

So, this is probably confusing due to a lack of feedback from yours truly over the summer…

But I’m back on Blogger from now on since I decided not to renew my domain and hosting. As much as I love having my own site, it just wasn’t the right fit anymore for several reasons:

1. Apparently, once I started paying money for a blog, I started posting less? I’m really starting to think I have this Voluntary-Work complex…jeez.

2. I am too poor from paying for my yoga teacher trainings (but I’m halfway to my 200 RYT!) And as a student-employee, the university is only paying me $10/hr.

3. The money that could have possibly been used for hosting renewal was excitedly spent today to buy yoga pants, gray corduroy pants, and a purple tank top.

4. I have no idea where I’ll be after graduation in Spring—something that actually really thrills me.

Last I checked--it’s getting my master’s in Vancouver, then Peace Corps (hopefully community development). Or if I don’t get accepted by either of the two programs I want, then doing Peace Corps and re-applying. Either option is a top choice for me.

I know, I know…why Canada? Well, I’ve always enjoyed our travels there, but my family’s 3-week summer trip to Vancouver and the Canadian Rockies sealed the deal, so to speak. The funny thing is that my mom has decided she wants to retire (from being a stay-at-home mom, haha) in Vancouver, too. And my lil’ sis is only applying to Canadian undergraduate programs for her senior year.

“Big Lion, you’re the pioneer!” My mom reminds me again over the phone, “Your old ma is depending on you to get her citizenship, okay? It’s like a return favor for giving birth to you in the US!”

I chuckle at her child-like eagerness. Since she’s over 54, once I get dual Canadian citizenship, she can receive hers automatically. And then there’s my sister, oh boy…

“And once I graduate next year, I can live with you!” She pauses for a moment, “Well, you’re kinda messy, but that’s okay…”

Gee thanks, kiddo. She’s the true planning soul of us two, having considered the perks of living with her jie: my wardrobe available 24/7, having someone who loves to cook for her, and a partner-in-crime for vacation trips.

Which would leave only my dad on the East Coast, much to his dismay.

Some pix from the trip...

So, does this mean you're going to be blogging regularly again? ;-)

Couldn't you keep your domain name and just have it point here?
